Jeffco Eats Food Drive
Oct 12, 2021
If you can get about five people we would like you to do a food drive at king Soopers for two hours ... It is located in Florida and Kipling.... I give them a list and you just ask people as they come in if they would buy a can of food for a hungry child... it pulls in like 500 dollars of food.. bm

Joe Berninger Founder, Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP) www.guatemalaliteracy.org | (513) 956-9012 Rotary Club Presentation Introduction Thanks to the support of over 600 Rotary clubs worldwide, the Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP) offers educational programs to over 200,000 students in Guatemala… working to break the cycle of poverty through education. GLP Representative(s) Christi Eisenberg is a long-time advocate for our project’s work in Guatemala, and has been involved with our parent organization, Cooperative for Education, since the early 2000s. Christi has travelled to Guatemala before, so she has great insight into the GLP’s need for support, and kindly volunteered to join our Ambassadors team last year. Hide in Plain Sight/Youth homelessness
Nov 16, 2021
Joe Roos began Hide in Plain Sight, also known as HIPS, with aspirations of eradicating student homelessness, starting in Douglas County. The nonprofit’s central mission is to help students young and old through scholarships and emergency financial assistance. He wants kids to attend college or trade schools after high school. He doesn’t want students of any age to miss out on field trips, extracurricular activities or be unable to participate in athletics because they can’t afford to. Although he’s still serving Douglas County, Roos’ organization has since expanded into a statewide program generating tens of thousands of dollars in higher-education scholarships and additional programming for at-risk students in grades K-12.
