Each year Lakewood Foothills Rotary Club members gather for an assembly line to pack boxes and donate frozen turkeys to the November meeting just before Thanksgiving. After the meeting everything is delivered to the West Metro offices for distribution. And pass the pumpkin pie!
While giving Thanksgiving food to various metro Denver organizations was a long-held Lakewood Foothills Rotary Club tradition, in 2002 LFRC began a relationship with West Metro Housing Solutions to contribute to their families. Yearly, the club provides the makings for Thanksgiving dinners boxes, including frozen turkeys, for 25-40 families.
