She was the first woman on the Board of directors in the downtown Indianapolis Club. Arthritis Foundation

Julie Underhill Butscher, MSW, LCSW is a medical social worker for Centura Health at Home, helping home bound individuals and families navigate the health care system. She is the mother of two kids with Juvenile Arthritis. Andy (19) and Katie (17) were both diagnosed when they were 18 months old. Julie and her husband, Mark, became involved with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation in 2003. Andy and Katie are currently in remission thanks to the efforts of the Arthritis Foundation, their wonderful pediatric rheumatologist, medicines and physical therapy. Julie is currently chair of the local Leadership Board. She is the past chair of the National Walk to Cure Arthritis Volunteer Committee. Julie has been on the National committee for 8 years, prior to being the chair, she was the Team Development Chair. She has been on her local Walk Committee since 2004 as Event Chair and Team Development Chair. Julie has been involved with the JA workgroup at the local level since the group was formed. In 2014, Julie chaired the National JA Conference Committee working with over 100 volunteers and 20 staff to ensure a fun and educational experience for over 1,000 people. Julie has been the Volunteer Camp Director of the JA Camp since 2015. Julie has been on many other National and local committees, including Development Committee, JA Task Team, and Volunteer Engagement Task Team. In her free time, Julie loves to play tennis, read, travel, bake and spend time with her family. |

Please mark your calendar for Friday, 18 June for a "Happy Hour" style (430pm - 7pm) Installation of Officers for 2021-2022. Russ and Ruthe will host it at the Gleason Overlook (14129 West Center Drive, Lakewood). Many have been to our home and there will be plenty of space to physical distance if so desired and the deck will also be available. Hors d' oeuvres, wine, beer and iced tea will be served and the Corn Hole Boards will be out. It will be a family friendly event. |

Jo Schantz has more than 20 years of senior-level experience in management, fundraising and communications, and she currently serves as executive director of the Jefferson County Library Foundation. She has held leadership positions in a number of Denver-area nonprofits, serving as: development manager, Community Educational Outreach; executive director, Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance; chief development officer, Veterans Green Jobs; special projects manager, Colorado State University Extension in Jefferson County; and senior development officer, Griffith Centers for Children, Inc.
A magna cum laude graduate of Metro State University of Denver, Jo earned a bachelor's degree in English/Journalism and a master's degree in nonprofit management (MNM) from Regis University. In addition, she is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), she’s received Grants Professional Certification (GPC) and she’s acquired added certifications in marketing and public relations. Jo is a published, freelance journalist who has written for local newspapers as well as regional and national magazines. She serves on the CSU Extension Advisory Board and is a Board member for the Honor Bell Foundation and the Literacy Coalition of Colorado. Jo is also a member of West Metro Chamber of Commerce, Golden Chamber of Commerce, Arvada Chamber of Commerce, the Wheat Ridge Business Association, Applewood Business Association, Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. |
