Jeffco Eats Food Drive
Oct 12, 2021
If you can get about five people we would like you to do a food drive at king Soopers for two hours ... It is located in Florida and Kipling.... I give them a list and you just ask people as they come in if they would buy a can of food for a hungry child... it pulls in like 500 dollars of food.. bm

Joe Berninger Founder, Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP) www.guatemalaliteracy.org | (513) 956-9012 Rotary Club Presentation Introduction Thanks to the support of over 600 Rotary clubs worldwide, the Guatemala Literacy Project (GLP) offers educational programs to over 200,000 students in Guatemala… working to break the cycle of poverty through education. GLP Representative(s) Christi Eisenberg is a long-time advocate for our project’s work in Guatemala, and has been involved with our parent organization, Cooperative for Education, since the early 2000s. Hide in Plain Sight/Youth homelessness
Nov 16, 2021
Joe Roos began Hide in Plain Sight, also known as HIPS, with aspirations of eradicating student homelessness, starting in Douglas County. The nonprofit’s central mission is to help students young and old through scholarships and emergency financial assistance. He wants kids to attend college or trade schools after high school. He doesn’t want students of any age to miss out on field trips, extracurricular activities or be unable to participate in athletics because they can’t afford to. Although he’s still serving Douglas County, Roos’ organization has since expanded into a statewide program generating tens of thousands of dollars in higher-education scholarships and additional programming for at-risk students in grades K-12. World Population Balance
Mar 22, 2022
Depopulation or Overpopulation? What’s Our Problem? Declining birth rates have been in the news the past few years, and last year U.S. population grew at the slowest rate in its history. This news has been met with alarm by many economists, business groups and commentators. IS this something we should be worried about? Or is it something we should be celebrating in an overpopulated country on an overpopulated planet? Meanwhile, Colorado was the sixth fastest growing state over the past decade. Do we want to be high on that list, or low? Filmmaker Dave Gardner shares what he learned about human population while producing the documentary, GrowthBusters: Hooked on Growth.
Dave Gardner spent most of his filmmaking career helping Fortune 500 companies grow their market, raise stock prices, manage their reputations, and improve productivity. He gave up that lucrative business, the country club membership and his quest for the “American Dream” in order to produce the documentary, GrowthBusters: Hooked on Growth. Now he devotes all his time to an effort to guarantee his kids – and all the children of the world – a good life.
